
Patna, August 24: Good news has emerged for those seeking jobs in the medical field. The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College and Hospital in Bihta, Patna, has issued an official notification for the recruitment of eligible candidates for various Senior Resident and Super Specialist Senior Resident positions, totaling 41 vacancies.
The ESIC has announced openings for Senior Residents in several departments, including 7 in Anesthesiology, 1 in Pathology, 1 in Chest, 2 in ENT, 1 in Ophthalmology, 2 in General Medicine, 2 in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 4 in Orthopedics, 2 in Pediatrics, 2 in Radiology, 2 in General Surgery, 1 in Anatomy, 1 in Physiology, 2 in FMT, 1 in Surgical Super Specialty with Anesthesiology, 1 in Burn and Plastic Surgery, 1 in Cardiology, 1 in Endocrinology and Metabolism, 1 in Hematology, 1 in Gastroenterology, 1 in Medical Oncology, 1 in Nephrology, 1 in Neurology, 1 in Pediatric Surgery, and 1 in Urology.
Candidates for these Senior Resident positions will be selected based on a walk-in interview and document verification. The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹67,700, along with additional benefits and allowances.
Candidates attending the interview must possess an MD/MS/DNB in the relevant specialty from a recognized university or institution. Those specializing in Pulmonary Medicine, Chest Medicine, and Respiratory Medicine can also apply. A valid registration with the NMC or State Medical Council is required. Candidates who are in their final year of PG examinations in September 2026 may also apply but must present their certificate before receiving an appointment offer.
The walk-in interviews for Senior Residents will be held on September 8 for the Super Specialty Department, on September 9 for Senior Residents (Pre and Para-Clinical), and on September 10 for Senior Residents (Clinical Department) at the ‘College Council Room, College Building, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Bihta, Patna – 801103’. Candidates are required to report between 9 AM and 11 AM.
It is important for candidates to note that registration will occur on the day of the walk-in interview. Applications will not be accepted after 11 AM. Therefore, all candidates are advised to arrive on time and bring a hard copy of their completed application form along with original and photocopies of all relevant documents.
During the registration process, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee based on their category, which is set at ₹500 for Unreserved/OBC/EWS candidates. SC/ST/ESIC (Regular Employees)/Women/Defense Ex-Servicemen/PH candidates are exempt from the registration fee.
