Mumbai, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Esha Deol has broken her silence regarding the social media trolling and inappropriate behavior faced by veteran actors, including Jaya Bachchan and Hema Malini. Speaking from Mumbai, she expressed concern about the tactics used by paparazzi to gain views and attention.
In a recent interview, Deol pointed out that the troubling behavior towards senior actors is often encouraged. She likened the situation to a child growing up without proper guidance from their parents, stating, “When a child becomes a teenager and doesn’t behave well with elders, who do you blame? The parents for not raising them right. Similarly, I believe photographers are being guided in this culture.”
Deol emphasized that the fault does not lie with the photographers themselves but rather with those running social media pages. “It’s the people behind these pages who want more likes and views by posting such content. Therefore, we need to address the root of this problem,” she said.
Discussing the treatment of veteran actors by paparazzi, Deol remarked, “We have endured this as a family, and I don’t think it’s respectful at all. If you ask me honestly, the industry is built by these very people. You must respect them, as they are the ones who have contributed to cinema.”
Furthermore, she highlighted the need for photographers to understand that while some celebrities enjoy playful interactions, others may feel uncomfortable. “So, stay within your limits. Do what you need to do, but do it appropriately. I think it’s that simple,” Deol concluded.
