CBI Files FIR in ₹10.24 Crore Fraud Case at Greater Noida PNB Branch
The CBI has registered an FIR in a significant fraud case involving ₹10.24 crore at a Punjab National Bank branch in Greater Noida.

Greater Noida, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) concerning a fraud amounting to ₹10.24 crore at a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch located in Sector Pi, Greater Noida. This development was reported on October 30, 2026.
Sources indicate that the initial investigation by the bank has raised suspicions about the involvement of several individuals, including a female employee. Allegations suggest that she misused the user IDs and passwords of other officials to withdraw money from customers’ accounts without authorization, transferring the funds to accounts of her accomplices. This fraudulent activity reportedly occurred over a span of nearly three years.
In light of the serious nature of the case, the CBI’s Anti-Corruption Branch in Ghaziabad initiated the investigation by filing the FIR on Thursday. According to PNB’s complaint, approximately ₹10.24 crore has been identified as unauthorized withdrawals from various customer accounts. The bank claims that this amount was allegedly withdrawn by the employee, Deepanshi, in collusion with Ashutosh Pathak, Pradeep Kumar, Membanti Devi, Priyanka Kumari, Shanti Devi, Shalini, Saroj Devi, and other unidentified individuals.
The bank has clarified that they are currently reconciling all transactions related to the affected accounts, and the number of impacted accounts and beneficiaries may increase as the investigation progresses. Consequently, the total fraud amount could also change.
Along with the complaint, the bank provided a list detailing suspicious activities related to fixed deposits (FDs). This list includes information on 49 FDs and the amounts transferred after their closure, totaling ₹70.23 lakh. However, this figure is separate from the alleged ₹10.24 crore fraud, and the relationship between these two amounts will be a focal point of the investigation.
The FIR has been registered against bank employee Deepanshi, Ashutosh Pathak, and other private and unidentified government employees under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
