Abu Dhabi, March 7: Emirates Airlines has announced the resumption of all flights to and from Dubai, which had previously been suspended. The airline emphasized that the safety of its passengers is a top priority, prompting this decision.
The company stated that flight services will restart on Saturday. Emirates confirmed that operations would resume following an earlier announcement regarding the temporary halt of flights to and from Dubai.
In a recent statement, the airline said, “Emirates will restart its operations. Passengers who have confirmed bookings for Saturday afternoon flights can proceed to the airport, including those with connecting flights in Dubai. Emirates is monitoring the situation and will adjust its operational schedule accordingly.”
Previously, the airline had announced the suspension of all flights. In a statement, it reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew is paramount, with no compromises allowed. The airline also suggested alternative options for rebooking flights.
Additionally, the company provided an option for passengers to submit refund forms via its official website.
Meanwhile, the UAE’s Ministry of Defense confirmed several airstrikes. Reports indicated that sounds heard across various regions were due to the interception of ballistic missiles by the air defense system and drones by fighter jets.
On Saturday, two explosions were reported in Dubai, along with one in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, which triggered sirens in the areas. Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior urged citizens and residents to remain calm and seek the nearest safe location.
These explosions occurred amid ongoing retaliatory attacks by Iran on Gulf countries hosting U.S. troops. Dubai officials had previously claimed to have managed a “minor incident” caused by debris falling after an interception.
