Electric Scooter Sales Surge: TVS Motor Company Dominates Market in February 2026

Mumbai, March 12: February 2026 has concluded, marking the shortest month of the year. Despite its 28 days, the demand for electric two-wheelers soared. This segment witnessed significant shifts among various companies. In February, electric two-wheeler deliveries reached 111,680 units, a remarkable 46% increase compared to last year’s 76,720 units. This figure represents the second-highest monthly sales in the current financial year, following October 2025’s 145,006 units. Cumulatively, sales for FY2026 have now surpassed 1.20 million units, exceeding the previous fiscal year’s record of 1.15 million units.

If the segment registers over 140,000 sales by the end of March 2026, it is on track to achieve a record 1.35 million units for India’s e-2W Inc. TVS Motor Company is expected to lead the market with over 300,000 units sold in FY2026. In February, TVS retained its position as the top two-wheeler company in the country, bolstered by its iQube and Orbiter models.

6. Ola Electric: 3,968 units (down 54% YoY)
7. Bgauss Auto: 2,411 units (up 98% YoY)
8. River: 2,251 units (up 267% YoY)
9. Simple Energy: 764 units (up 240% YoY)
10. Revolt Motors: 651 units (down 14% YoY)

TVS Motor Company solidified its market dominance by retailing 31,600 units last month, a 67% increase from February 2025. This achievement grants TVS a 28% market share in February 2026, bringing its total sales for the fiscal year to 290,746 units. The company aims to conclude FY2026 with a record 325,000 units sold.

February’s sales mark TVS’s second-highest monthly retail figures, surpassing 30,000 units for the fifth time since entering the e-2W market six years ago. The company is considering increasing its e-2W manufacturing capacity, currently producing about 30,000 iQubes and approximately 10,000 Orbiters monthly.

CEO K.N. Radhakrishnan remarked on the strong demand for both the flagship iQube and the new Orbiter, which targets different customer segments. He noted that while it’s early to predict usage trends for the Orbiter, initial demand has been promising. The positive sales figures from January and February reflect this trend, with March starting strong at 427 e-scooter sales on the first day.
