Beijing, April 5: Edifier has introduced its latest Hecate Aurora Light-Cooling compact desktop speaker in China. Priced at 269 yuan ($39), this speaker targets gamers and desktop users who appreciate both audio quality and visual aesthetics.
The Hecate Aurora boasts a sleek and minimalist design. With dimensions of 225 x 76 x 55mm, it easily fits under most monitors. Drawing inspiration from the Braun Audio 300 turntable, Edifier combines a high-transparency acrylic front panel with a metallic rear case, creating a retro yet industrial look that complements modern desk setups.
Equipped with dual 56mm cone drivers and a racetrack-shaped passive radiator, the speaker delivers up to 20W peak power for balanced audio, featuring robust bass and clear mids and highs. It supports a frequency range of 120Hz to 20kHz, making it suitable for gaming, music, and movies.
The device supports Bluetooth 6.0 for wireless audio streaming and includes an AUX input for wired connections. It is compatible with smartphones, laptops, desktops, tablets, and gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, it features physical buttons for power, volume control, and multifunction operations.
The Hecate Aurora is powered by a 5200mAh built-in battery, offering portability. Users can enjoy up to 5 hours of playback with RGB lighting enabled or up to 11 hours with the lighting turned off. The speaker can be charged while in use, with a full charge taking approximately 3 hours.
Featuring RGB lighting with 14 effects, including rainbow and static colors, users can customize the lighting through onboard controls or the Edifier app. The app also allows for volume adjustment, sound mode switching, battery monitoring, and timer settings.
In related news, Xiaomi recently launched the Desktop Speaker Pro globally, with its first appearance in Singapore, while Philips has introduced its 80s-inspired Moving Sound lineup, which includes speakers, on-ear headphones, and TWS earbuds.
