ED Seizes ₹129.85 Crore in Ghee Adulteration Scam Linked to TTD
The Enforcement Directorate has seized assets worth ₹129.85 crore in a ghee adulteration case involving TTD and various companies.

Hyderabad, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has temporarily seized assets valued at ₹129.85 crore as part of an investigation into a ghee adulteration scam linked to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). This action follows allegations against several companies, including Bhole Baba Organic Dairy Milk Private Limited and Vaishnavi Dairy Specialities Private Limited, along with their promoters Vipin Jain and Pomil Jain.
The probe initiated by the ED is based on a First Information Report (FIR) filed at the Tirupati East Police Station. This FIR accuses TTD of being involved in a criminal conspiracy to supply adulterated ghee, leading to fraud, forgery, and corruption.
As part of its investigation, the ED has filed a charge sheet before a special judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nellore. The documents reveal a significant scheme where adulterated ghee was supplied to TTD for the preparation of sacred offerings, putting public health at risk and generating substantial illegal profits.
Investigations show that Bhole Baba directly supplied ₹234.5 crore worth of adulterated ghee to TTD, using refined palm oil and other chemicals disguised as edible oil. To cover their tracks, the companies falsely reported sales to fake buyers, while actual dairy operations were obscured through fabricated purchases of milk and ghee.
Additionally, payments for these fraudulent purchases were funneled through banking channels and returned as cash via hawala networks. This cash was then used to fund fake palm oil buyers and pay commissions to front dairies involved in the scam.
Earlier, on June 3, 2026, the ED conducted searches across 16 locations in states including Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh, seizing ₹2.7 crore in cash and freezing bank accounts linked to the case.
The ED has also arrested key figures, including Vipin Jain and Kailash Chand Mangla, who orchestrated the scheme to produce and supply adulterated ghee to TTD. In total, assets worth ₹132.55 crore have been attached under Section 17 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
