Dimple Yadav Discusses the Decline of Naxalism in India

New Delhi, March 30: Dimple Yadav, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, spoke to the media on Monday regarding the issue of Naxalism. She expressed that the decline of Naxalism in the country is a positive development. However, she emphasized the importance of the government addressing the root causes of the problem.

Yadav stated, “I want to say that the government must resolve the issues faced by the people.” She recalled that when Naxalism was prevalent in areas like Chandauli and Sonbhadra, it was the leadership of her party that provided land to the people, improved their livelihoods, and ensured education. It was through such initiatives that Naxalism was effectively eradicated in Uttar Pradesh. She insisted that similar support must be extended to the people in those regions.

Additionally, during a discussion in the Lok Sabha about efforts to rid the country of left-wing extremism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the house. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the population living in the region known as the Red Corridor, which encompasses 12 states and covers 70 percent of the area.

Shah noted that Naxalism has nearly been eradicated from Bastar. He highlighted ongoing initiatives to establish schools in every village and open ration shops in the region. He challenged those questioning the development of tribal communities, asking what they had done over the past 70 years.

He further questioned, “In 75 years, if you governed for 60 years, why have the tribals remained deprived of development? It is Narendra Modi who is now working for their progress.” Shah criticized the previous Congress government for failing to provide housing, water, schools, and banking facilities to the tribal population, urging them to reflect on their own shortcomings.
