Digital Devotion Shines at Ayodhyas Deepotsav with Shri Mandir App
Ayodhyas Deepotsav 2026 will feature one lakh lamps lit digitally, allowing devotees worldwide to participate through the Shri Mandir app.

Lucknow, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : The historic Deepotsav in Ayodhya for 2026 is set to embrace digital technology, allowing devotees from across the globe to participate in the festival. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to light 30 lakh lamps, with one lakh of those being lit through the innovative ‘Shri Mandir’ app.
This initiative enables devotees anywhere in the world to offer lamps in the name of Lord Ram at the Rajdwar in Ayodhya. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the ‘Shri Mandir’ app has facilitated such a special offering during the festival’s tenth edition. Participants can choose to light one, five, eleven, or twenty-one lamps. After online booking, learned priests at Rajdwar will light the lamps in accordance with Vedic rituals, using the devotee’s name and lineage.
The entire lamp-lighting process will be recorded on video and later shared digitally with the respective devotees. This connection allows Ram devotees living abroad or in remote areas to participate in the Deepotsav and have a spiritual experience by offering their lamps at the feet of their deity. Alongside the lamp offerings, the ‘Shri Mandir’ app will also host other religious ceremonies during the Deepotsav, including the recitation of the Ramayana. Scholars and priests will be honored and served with due reverence. Additionally, arrangements will be made for a grand distribution of food for over five thousand monks, devotees, and those in need.
Prashant Sachan, the founder and CEO of ‘Shri Mandir’, expressed his belief that geographical distance should not hinder a devotee’s faith and connection to sacred pilgrimage sites. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s guidance, the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to promoting Ayodhya’s Deepotsav and Indian cultural heritage on a global scale. He noted that it is a privilege to contribute to this event, emphasizing that every lamp lit in the name of a devotee should be done with utmost devotion, respect, and adherence to Vedic traditions.
Notably, the ‘Shri Mandir’ app, which has been downloaded over four crore times, connects users to more than 100 major temples across the country, offering online worship, religious services, donations, and prasad distribution. This digital initiative provides an opportunity for elderly, unwell devotees, and those living abroad to participate in the Deepotsav, even if they cannot physically reach Ayodhya.
