BJP Leader Questions Rahul Gandhis Claim of 1 Million Attendees at Delhi Rally

BJPs Praveen Shankar Kapoor challenges Rahul Gandhis assertion of 1 million attendees at the upcoming rally in Delhis Ramleela Maidan.

New Delhi, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions are rising ahead of the India Block rally scheduled for November 1 at New Delhi’s Ramleela Maidan. BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor has raised doubts about Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s assertion that 1 million people will attend the event.

In a recent conversation, Kapoor pointed out that Gandhi has been claiming for some time that a massive crowd would gather in Delhi. He emphasized that Ramleela Maidan has hosted numerous political rallies in the past, giving him a solid understanding of its capacity. On Saturday morning, Kapoor visited the site to assess the preparations. He noted that barricades in the colors of the national flag had been set up on both sides, with chairs arranged in the center. According to him, the venue can accommodate approximately 20,000 to 22,000 chairs, but by the time of his inspection, only about 8,000 to 10,000 chairs had been placed.

Kapoor took a jab at Gandhi, stating that only someone who claims to turn potatoes into gold could make such a bold claim about attracting 1 million people with just 22,000 chairs. He also criticized Gandhi’s mock parliament initiative, suggesting that he should focus on gaining a majority in the real parliament. Kapoor further targeted Gandhi regarding the National Herald case.

Meanwhile, Bihar government minister Jama Khan expressed concerns about the impact of protests on the general public and businesses. He stated that such demonstrations often disrupt economic activities, emphasizing that while the opposition has the right to voice their opinions, the methods should not cause unnecessary distress to citizens.

Khan reminded that the public had once placed those now in opposition into power. However, he cautioned that if they fail to deliver, the public can also remove them from power. He highlighted the developmental work done under the leadership of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Bihar and accused the opposition of opposing the government’s positive initiatives, asserting that the public has become aware of their rhetoric and criticism.
