Devotees Flock to Jhandewalan Temple on Second Day of Chaitra Navratri

New Delhi, March 20: On the second day of Chaitra Navratri, a large number of devotees have gathered at the Jhandewalan Temple in New Delhi. Since 4 AM, long queues have formed for darshan and worship. Devotees visit the temple to seek blessings from Mata Rani and participate in prayers.

The temple priest shared that Thursday marked the first day of Navratri, while today is the second day dedicated to the worship of Maa Brahmacharini. The idol of the goddess has been adorned in her Brahmacharini form. Devotees have been lining up since early morning for darshan.

He stated, “Maa Bhagwati performed severe penance to attain Lord Shiva. It was during this time that she was granted a vision of him. On the second day of Navratri, devotees begin their yoga practices associated with the Swadhisthana chakra. This day is particularly auspicious for practitioners as they worship the goddess to fulfill their desires.”

Trustee Ravinder Goyal extended warm wishes to all devotees for Navratri and the Hindu New Year. He noted that all arrangements at the temple are functioning smoothly, with many devotees coming to seek the goddess’s blessings. Entry to the temple is organized through three different points, and digital darshan facilities are also available. Devotees can book their timings online via the temple’s website.

Goyal mentioned that parking arrangements have been made at six locations outside the temple, each equipped with shoe stands. Additionally, carpeting has been laid out for the convenience of visitors. The temple is themed around spring for Chaitra Navratri, and special attention is being given to cleanliness, with the premises being cleaned three times a day.

Regarding security, Goyal informed that over 300 CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the temple complex. A control room has been set up where Delhi Police officials and temple volunteers monitor activities. The temple has around 3,000 volunteers, including more than 350 women.

A devotee visiting the temple on the second day of Navratri expressed, “Coming here brings immense peace to my mind. All my stress disappears. I visit every time. Mata Rani has been very kind to us.”
