Devotees Flock to Jhande Wala and Kalka Ji Temples on Sixth Day of Chaitra Navratri

New Delhi, March 24: On the sixth day of Chaitra Navratri, special prayers were held for Goddess Katyayani, the sixth form of Goddess Durga. From early morning, long queues of devotees were seen at the renowned Jhande Wala and Kalka Ji temples in Delhi. Families arrived at the temples to bow before the deity, seeking blessings for prosperity and well-being.

Special rituals and prayers were conducted at the temples today. Vinod Mishra, a priest at Jhande Wala Temple, explained that today is dedicated to Goddess Katyayani, who symbolizes strength, courage, and righteousness. The rituals begin with bathing the goddess in Ganga water, followed by anointing her with Panchamrit. Offerings of incense, rice, flowers, and food are then presented. Devotees earnestly pray for their wishes to be fulfilled.

The priest also mentioned that this day holds particular significance for unmarried girls. It is believed that sincere worship of Goddess Katyayani can lead to the arrival of a suitable groom.

Similarly, Kalka Ji Temple witnessed a massive turnout. Devotees were deeply engrossed in their worship of Goddess Katyayani, seeking her blessings for peace and happiness in their lives.

Ravi Gaur, a member of the temple committee, noted that the pleasant weather this year has contributed to an increase in the number of visitors. He assured that the temple administration has made all necessary arrangements to ensure that devotees face no difficulties. Special attention has been given to security, cleanliness, and queue management.

The temple complex resonated with the sweet sounds of devotional songs, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. People chanted “Jai Mata Di” as they moved forward. Many devotees offered prasad, praying for the well-being, health, and success of their families.
