
New Delhi, March 16: Devjeet Saikia, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), congratulated all the winners of the ‘BCCI Naman Awards’ on Monday. He expressed that the performance, dedication, and passion of these players are inspiring millions.
In a post on social media platform X, Saikia wished the players a bright future, stating, “Congratulations to all the winners of the BCCI Naman Awards. Your performance, dedication, and passion are consistently elevating the standard of Indian cricket and inspiring millions. I wish all awardees further success so they can take Indian cricket to even greater heights.”
Along with his message, Saikia shared photos from the ceremony, noting, “Last evening, we celebrated the success and glory of Indian cricket.”
The BCCI celebrated remarkable achievements in Indian cricket at the ‘BCCI Naman Awards 2026’. The event honored players for their outstanding performances in international, domestic, and age-group cricket. Additionally, it recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to Indian cricket over the years.
Former cricketers Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid received the prestigious Colonel C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award for their long-standing contributions to Indian cricket. Meanwhile, former women’s captain Mithali Raj was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her vital role in elevating women’s cricket in the country.
Other award winners included India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, who received the Polly Umrigar Award for the 2024-25 season. Smriti Mandhana was awarded the Best International Cricketer (Women) for the fifth time.
Indian women’s team opener Shafali Verma and recent Under-19 World Cup-winning captain Ayush Mhatre were recognized for their exceptional performances in the 2024-25 domestic season. The Mumbai Cricket Association was acknowledged for its outstanding performance in BCCI domestic tournaments.
A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of five Indian teams that recently won ICC titles, including the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and victories in both men’s and women’s ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup tournaments. This reflects a historic period of success for Indian cricket.
