Rohtak, August 5: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a 20-year sentence in the Sadhvi sexual exploitation and murder cases, has been granted 40 days of parole. He walked out of Sunaria Jail in Rohtak on Tuesday morning under tight security arrangements.

Ram Rahim was released from prison around 7 AM, with additional security deployed in and around the jail premises. This marks the 14th time that the Dera chief has been granted temporary release.
Earlier this year, on April 9, he was out on a 21-day parole. According to Jail Superintendent Satyawan, the parole was granted in accordance with jail regulations.
Ram Rahim is currently serving his sentence for rape and murder convictions. This time, he has been granted parole reportedly to mark his 58th birthday, which falls on August 15. However, as per parole conditions, he is not permitted to organise any public gathering at the Sirsa Dera headquarters. He is, however, allowed to virtually address his followers during this period.
