Demand for DK Shivakumar as Chief Minister Grows Amid Birthday Celebrations

Bengaluru, May 15: The call for DK Shivakumar to be appointed as the Chief Minister of Karnataka has resurfaced. On Friday, banners declaring him as the ‘next Chief Minister’ were spotted in Belagavi and other locations, coinciding with his 64th birthday celebrations.

Posters celebrating his birthday also referred to him as the ‘future Chief Minister.’ One prominent hoarding was displayed at Channamma Circle in Belagavi, extending birthday wishes to Shivakumar. Reports indicate that these banners were put up by Mrinal Hebbalkar, the son of Congress leader and Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Lakshmi Hebbalkar.

It is noteworthy that Lakshmi Hebbalkar attributes her success to DK Shivakumar. Additionally, her brother, Channraj Hattiholi, serves as a Congress MLC.

Despite previously urging party workers and supporters not to put up banners for his birthday, the appearance of ‘next Chief Minister’ posters has sparked fresh discussions in political circles.

Reflecting on his birthday celebrations in Bengaluru, DK Shivakumar remarked, “The celebrations continued all night. My friends and supporters were eager to meet me. What can I do? Their love, trust, and blessings are what matter. I had instructed all my supporters not to display banners for this occasion. Officials have already removed nearly 50% of the banners.”

Meanwhile, Vedic scholars and priests visited Shivakumar’s residence in Sadashivanagar on Friday morning to offer their blessings, chanting Vedic mantras.

State Minister Sharan Prakash Patil also visited Shivakumar to extend his birthday wishes.
