Demand for Apology from Swami Avimukteshwaranand in Ayodhya Controversy

Ayodhya, February 3: Tensions are rising among the spiritual community regarding a controversial statement made by Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Jagatguru Paramhans Acharya, head of the Tapasvi Chhauni Peeth in Ayodhya, has condemned the remarks as extremely objectionable and has demanded a public apology from Swami Avimukteshwaranand. He warned that the swami would not be allowed to enter Ayodhya until he retracts his statement and seeks forgiveness from the Chief Minister.

In an exclusive interview with a news agency, Paramhans Acharya expressed that Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s comparison of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to Mughal rulers has incited significant anger among followers of Sanatan Dharma. He emphasized that Yogi Adityanath is not only the Chief Minister but also the head of the Gorakhnath Peeth, and such language is utterly unacceptable.

From the sacred birthplace of Lord Ram, Acharya stated that Swami Avimukteshwaranand must take back his words and apologize to Yogi Adityanath to gain entry into Ayodhya. He praised the Chief Minister as the “sun of Sanatan” for his efforts in making Uttar Pradesh a better state. While disagreements with him are natural, using such language in public life is intolerable.

Acharya also criticized Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s cow protection movement, suggesting it is politically motivated. He argued that merely declaring the cow as the national mother will not ensure the protection of all cattle. He pointed out that focusing only on cows will not stop the slaughter of bulls, calves, and male cows, making it impossible to fully end cow slaughter. He urged the central and state governments to declare cattle as national and state heritage to effectively halt cow slaughter.

He accused Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s movement of being orchestrated by opposition forces to weaken the government, which he believes is against the interests of Sanatan Dharma. He called for all followers of Sanatan to socially and religiously boycott the swami until he retracts his disrespectful comments about Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
