Delhi Police Busts Inter-State Drug Supply Network, Four Arrested

New Delhi, March 15: The Delhi Police has apprehended four individuals involved in the illegal drug supply chain. A significant quantity of banned medications was seized during this operation. The action was carried out by the Crime Branch’s ER-1 team, led by Inspector Gurmeet Singh Kataria and guided by ACP Sunil Srivastava.

On March 7, a police team was deployed in the Delhi-NCR region to gather intelligence related to organized crime. During this operation, they received a tip-off that Vipin Kumar Pal, a resident of Sonia Vihar, would deliver a consignment of drugs, including alprazolam and tramadol, to Salman Khan from Patiala near Yudhishthir Setu (Yamuna Bridge) between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM.

Upon arrival at the scene, police arrested Vipin and Salman. A search of their bag revealed a carton containing 100 boxes of alprazolam tablets (0.5 mg). In total, 59,925 tablets were counted, weighing approximately 8,089.875 grams. The accused could not provide any valid bill or prescription for the drugs. An FSL team from Rohini and drug inspectors were called to the site, confirming that the seized tablets were classified as banned substances.

An FIR was registered on March 8 at the Delhi Police Station Crime Branch (ER-1). During interrogation, the accused revealed that the drug consignment was supplied by Abdul Rahman alias Rehan from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, intended for his associate Mani in Barnala, Punjab.

As the investigation progressed, Abdul Rahman alias Rehan and Ravi Garg were arrested on March 13 and are currently in police custody for four days. Based on their information, the police team was taken to their rented room in Muzaffarnagar. During a search of the room around 11:25 PM on March 13, Rexogesic (buprenorphine) injections were discovered. A total of 2,000 injections (80 boxes), approximately 4,000 milliliters or about 8 kilograms (including ampoules) were seized.
