Delhi Police Arrest Two Inter-State Vehicle Thieves After 250-Kilometer Chase on Agra Expressway

Two inter-state vehicle thieves were arrested by Delhi Police after a 250-kilometer chase on the Agra Expressway.

New Delhi, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi Police have apprehended two alleged inter-state vehicle thieves following an extensive chase spanning approximately 250 kilometers along the Agra Expressway. The suspects were found in possession of a stolen Tata Ace mini truck and four motorcycles, which are linked to various e-FIRs registered at different police stations in Delhi.

The operation began on October 16, 2026, after a report was received at the Okhla Industrial Area police station regarding the theft of the Tata mini truck. In response, police registered an e-FIR and initiated an investigation. A special team, led by Sub-Inspector Chandravir, was formed to handle the case, including ASI Vikul and Head Constables Krishna, Harish, Karamveer, and Constable Dharmendra.

The team, under the guidance of the Okhla police post and ACP Sarita Vihar, quickly began tracing the vehicle’s GPS location and reviewing CCTV footage. They also verified toll plaza records to track the vehicle’s movements. This investigation led them all the way to Agra, where they successfully intercepted the stolen truck and apprehended the individuals inside.

The arrested suspects, identified as Shahbaz and Jubair, are originally from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand and were temporarily residing in Okhla. In addition to the stolen truck, the police recovered four motorcycles. Three of these motorcycles are associated with e-FIRs from three different police stations in Delhi, while one is linked to an FIR from the Welcome police station in northeast Delhi.

Following these arrests, the police are now investigating potential connections between the suspects and other theft cases. Authorities aim to uncover whether the suspects are involved in additional crimes and where the stolen vehicles might have been sold.

Delhi Police are also working to determine if any other individuals were involved in this operation, as they gather information on possible locations for selling the stolen vehicles and other criminal activities linked to the suspects.
