Delhi Police Arrest Notorious Criminal Linked to 15 Cases, Seizes Stolen Scooter and Mobile Phone

New Delhi, March 13: The police in West Delhi have apprehended a notorious criminal involved in approximately 15 cases, including theft and violations of the Arms Act. The arrest took place in the Hari Nagar police station area.

According to the Hari Nagar police, a dedicated team has been patrolling the area to curb the rising incidents of vehicle theft and street crimes. On Wednesday night at 9:10 PM, while on patrol near the Khatu Shyam Stadium on Shaheed Major Rajeev Lal Marg, Officer Manish spotted a man riding a gray scooter. Upon noticing the police, the scooter rider attempted to turn back and flee, raising suspicion.

Officer Manish quickly pursued him and apprehended him a short distance away. During questioning, the suspect identified himself as Sagar, also known as Nepali, a 29-year-old resident of Naraina village, Delhi. A search revealed an illegal button knife and a mobile phone in his possession.

Upon checking the scooter’s registration number, police discovered it had been stolen from Subhash Place. Additionally, the recovered mobile phone was linked to a theft case registered at the Hari Nagar police station.

Head Constable Somveer arrived at the scene to complete the necessary legal procedures. Subsequently, a case was registered under the Arms Act at the Hari Nagar police station. During interrogation, the suspect revealed he was heading to the Mayapuri scrap market to sell the stolen scooter and mobile phone. This operation was conducted by a team led by Inspector Ashu Girotra, the SHO of Hari Nagar, along with SI Anoop Rana and Head Constable Somveer. Police officials stated that further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
