Delhi Police Arrests Female Drug Peddler, Seizes 55.52 Grams of Heroin

New Delhi, March 12: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Delhi Police achieved a significant breakthrough on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, the team conducted a raid in the Safeda Jhuggi area of Geeta Colony and apprehended a 19-year-old female drug peddler named Roopa. The police seized 55.52 grams of heroin, classified as an intermediate quantity under the NDPS Act.

According to the information received, Roopa was involved in the illegal sale and possession of heroin. Following the confirmation of the tip-off, Inspector Vinod Kumar led a special team, monitored by ACP Ram Shankar Goteval and DCP Shahdara. The team comprised SI Dheer Singh, ASI Shokinder, HC Rajesh, HC Vedpal, HC Pankaj, HC Vikas Malik, Constable Arjun, Constable Deepak, and Constable Shivani.

Roopa was caught at her residence during the raid. A polyethylene packet containing 55.52 grams of heroin was found hidden in the right pocket of her lower garment. The narcotics were seized, and an FIR numbered 80/26 was registered under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at PS Geeta Colony.

During interrogation, Roopa disclosed the name of her supplier from whom she purchased the drugs. The police are now conducting raids on the alleged supplier and receiver’s locations. Efforts are ongoing to trace the entire drug supply chain and its sources. Roopa, a resident of Safeda Jhuggi in Geeta Colony, works as a laborer and struggles to make ends meet. Investigations revealed that she got in touch with a drug supplier and was lured into this illegal trade by the prospect of easy money. She is a habitual offender and has previously been involved in two criminal cases.

This operation is part of Delhi Police’s ongoing strict campaign against drugs. The investigation continues, and further raids are expected to uncover a larger network.
