New Delhi, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : In anticipation of the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) protest scheduled for October 10, Delhi Police has announced significant traffic diversions starting at 6 AM. Authorities are urging commuters to allow extra time for travel, especially those heading to railway stations, ISBT, or the airport in New Delhi and central Delhi.
Traffic diversions will be enforced at several key intersections and routes, including the Outer Circle at Connaught Place-Barakhamba Road T-point, Gol Dak Khana roundabout, Patel Chowk roundabout, and the RML Hospital roundabout. Additional affected areas include the Jai Singh Road-Ashoka Road T-point and the Outer Circle at Connaught Place-Parliament Road T-point.
The Delhi Traffic Police has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel during this period. Traffic management measures will be adjusted based on real-time conditions, allowing for flexibility or stricter controls as needed.
Commuters are encouraged to check the Delhi Traffic Police’s official website and social media channels for the latest updates on traffic conditions, alternative routes, and other pertinent information.
Other areas where traffic diversions will occur include Shankar Road-Vande Mataram T-point, Dhaula Kuan Flyover, Jhandewalan roundabout, and Mandi House roundabout. The police also highlighted that internet services will be restricted in parts of central Delhi around the Janpath-Kartavya Path area.
In a related measure, entry and exit points at 45 Delhi Metro stations will be closed from 9 PM on Friday until Saturday evening due to the protest. Authorities have denied permission for the CJP’s planned demonstration, citing past violations of legal directives and organizers’ assurances during previous protests.
