New Delhi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the families of victims affected by the recent building collapse in Satya Niketan. She toured the trauma center at AIIMS, where she met with the injured and their relatives to assess their treatment. Gupta emphasized that the government stands with the affected families and will provide all possible financial and medical assistance.
During her discussions with the media, Gupta revealed that among the twelve individuals rescued from the site, seven have tragically lost their lives, including two laborers and five students. One laborer remains hospitalized at AIIMS Trauma Center with serious injuries, but his condition is reported as stable. He suffered significant injuries to his leg and is currently under medical care.
Gupta noted that two of the injured students are in stable condition and are expected to be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday. However, one student is in the ICU due to severe injuries, and the Chief Minister reassured his parents of the best possible care.
The government has committed to providing top-notch medical facilities for all injured individuals. Additionally, financial support will be extended to the families of the deceased students and the injured laborer. The families of the deceased have already begun their journey back home from Delhi, with the government facilitating necessary arrangements for them.
Gupta also announced that another hazardous building near the site has been officially declared unsafe. Plans are in place to demolish this structure, with the process expected to be completed by Wednesday to ensure public safety.
She reiterated the government’s commitment to staying in close contact with all affected families, assuring them that they will receive all necessary support during this difficult time. Investigations into the causes of the incident and accountability measures will also be pursued by relevant agencies.
