Congress Leader Kharge Criticizes Modi Government, Calls for Unity to Protect Democracy
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge urges unity against the Modi government, claiming it undermines democracy by stealing votes from youth and marginalized groups.

New Delhi, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge delivered a strong critique of the Narendra Modi government during the India Alliance rally held at Ramleela Maidan in New Delhi on Sunday. He accused the Modi administration of attempting to disenfranchise youth, women, and Dalits. Kharge emphasized that removing the Modi government is essential for safeguarding democracy, asserting that the opposition will unite in this struggle.
“This historic meeting at Ramleela Maidan is a call to action. They are trying to steal votes from youth, women, and Dalits. We have gathered here to oppose this,” Kharge stated. He added, “We will not leave until Gyanesh Kumar is removed. They are trying to hide him, but he cannot be concealed. We will never be afraid.”
Kharge also targeted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are working to manipulate voter rolls and remove names from electoral lists. He reiterated that the opposition’s fight for Kumar’s removal would continue.
In his address, Kharge criticized the governments of Maharashtra, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, claiming they came to power through vote theft. “They decide who will vote for them. The public does not choose them. The current governments in the center, along with those in Maharashtra, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, are governments formed through vote theft. We must remove these thieves,” he declared.
He insisted that to protect democracy, it is crucial to oust Prime Minister Modi. “Modi will only go when people fight against him with strength and unity,” Kharge urged the crowd to join in this struggle.
Kharge referenced government agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and police, stating that the opposition will not be intimidated by these institutions. He accused Modi of using these agencies to instill fear among opposition members.
“We have the strength to fight, and we are not afraid of the police, CBI, ED, or any other government agency. The leaders of the India Alliance will also not back down. Everyone on this stage is ready to fight. Modi is trying to divide people and steal their votes,” he said, stressing the opposition’s commitment to upholding the Constitution, strengthening democracy, and saving the nation.
In closing, Kharge reiterated the need for a united opposition to remove Modi and protect democracy. “PM Modi will certainly go. When you fight with determination and unity, victory will be ours. Together, we will fight, remove Modi, protect the Constitution, strengthen democracy, and save our country.”
