Danish Azad Supports Smriti Iranis Remarks on Rahul Gandhis Development Record in Amethi

Lucknow, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : The political climate in Uttar Pradesh has intensified following comments made by BJP leader Smriti Irani regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. On Wednesday, Irani asserted that Gandhi could not win elections in Amethi without external support.

Supporting Irani’s statement, Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari spoke in Lucknow on Thursday. He stated, “Smriti Irani is absolutely correct. The Congress party has misled the people of Amethi. Whether it’s Raebareli or Amethi, the family-oriented Congress has failed to achieve anything there.”

Ansari further criticized Gandhi, saying, “In the area he calls home, he has never hesitated to ruin it. Look at the statistics from the time he represented these regions. How many industries were established in Raebareli and Amethi, and how many have since shut down? It’s clear that the Gandhi family has done nothing for these areas.”

In response, the Samajwadi Party has retaliated against the BJP. SP spokesperson Ashutosh Verma took aim at Irani, stating, “Smriti Irani does not understand who she is up against. By targeting senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, she is trying to elevate her own stature, but she was defeated by a simple Congress worker. Once she recovers from this shock, she might be able to discuss real issues.”

Notably, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. However, in the upcoming 2024 elections, she faces the challenge of competing against Congress’s Kishori Lal Sharma.
