Udaipur, April 15, 2026 (Daily Kiran): Hindustan Zinc has expanded market access for rural women entrepreneurs through its Sakhi initiative, with their brand ‘Daichi’ now available on Blinkit and Modern Bazaar stores across Delhi-NCR.

The move enables products made by rural women to reach large retail outlets and quick commerce platforms in urban markets. The ‘Daichi – The Best from Rural India’ brand offers a wide range of FMCG products, including pickles, honey, spices, pulses, snacks, oil, and ghee, all handmade and managed by women entrepreneurs.
With a turnover of Rs 2.6 crore, the initiative now involves over 400 women and includes more than 300 products across food and textile categories. Under the broader rural livelihoods programme, the Sakhi initiative has empowered over 26,800 women through grassroots institutions such as federations, village organisations, self-help groups, and MSMEs.
Commenting on the development, CEO and Whole-Time Director Arun Misra said the aim is to connect women-led enterprises with mainstream markets. He said the presence of Daichi products on large retail platforms will strengthen rural livelihoods and contribute to positive social change.
The microenterprise programme, which began in 2018-19 with five stitching units involving 81 women and 86 products, has expanded to 14 production units. These units are now operated by over 400 women producing a diverse range of goods.
The brand has also launched its own e-commerce platform, ‘Hearts with Fingers’, and is available on major marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, and ONDC, helping increase digital adoption and customer reach.
The Sakhi project has received national recognition and won four major awards, including honours from Business World and SKOCH for its work in women empowerment. It has also showcased its presence at platforms such as India International Trade Fair and Jaipur Literature Festival, and participated in Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda Festival.
With rising demand for quick commerce, the launch on Blinkit and Modern Bazaar marks a strategic move towards mainstream retail, opening new growth avenues for women-led enterprises and strengthening their market linkages. Following its launch in Delhi-NCR, the initiative aims to expand into other markets as well.
Hindustan Zinc continues to advance community development through various social initiatives, focusing on education, skill development, livelihood generation, women empowerment, healthcare, and environmental protection. The company’s programmes are impacting over 2.3 million people across more than 2,300 villages.
