Kolkata, August 4: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has initiated a coaching training program aimed at fulfilling the dreams of individuals aspiring to build a career in coaching. The CAB is making significant investments in this initiative.
The association believes that a robust cricket ecosystem largely depends on the quality of grassroots coaches. To this end, CAB is launching an ‘O Level’ coaching program. This intensive program, supervised directly by the seminar committee, will span several months and aims to fulfill the personal aspirations of aspiring coaches.
Through the ‘O Level’ program, CAB intends to equip over 240 candidates with BCCI-supported methodologies and world-class knowledge. This initiative ensures that the next generation of players is guided by recognized, highly skilled coaches who possess a deep passion for cricket. The journey from an enthusiastic individual to a certified coach begins here.
Before the commencement of the O Level coaching course, former Indian cricketer and current head coach of Bengal’s senior team, Lakshmi Ratan Shukla, Apex Council member Surjit Lahiri, and seminar committee chairman Sougat Chatterjee were present.
Cricket has always been a popular sport in India. Currently, the demand for coaches has surged due to the IPL, state-based T20 leagues, and the rapid expansion of cricket academies. Career options as a coach have significantly increased and are financially rewarding.
