Controversy Surrounds JDU MP Girdhari Yadav as Union Minister Responds

New Delhi, March 25: The political landscape has intensified over the disqualification of JDU MP Girdhari Yadav in the Lok Sabha. Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh addressed the controversy, asserting that the party’s decision was based on facts and not unilateral.

In an interview with a news agency, Singh stated that Girdhari Yadav actively campaigned for his son, who contested the 2025 assembly elections on an RJD ticket. This action was deemed anti-party by JDU’s parliamentary leader, Dileshwar Kamat, who has submitted a petition to the Lok Sabha Speaker. The final decision will rest with the Speaker.

Kamat reiterated JDU’s stance, claiming there is substantial evidence against Yadav. He accused the MP of working against the party and supporting an opposition candidate, which constitutes a serious violation of anti-defection laws. Kamat emphasized that, according to the rules, Yadav’s membership should be revoked.

In response to the notice submitted to the Lok Sabha Speaker regarding Yadav’s disqualification for anti-party activities, RJD MP Misa Bharti remarked, β€œHe is a JDU MP, and if his son is contesting, he is an adult. We will see what action is taken.”

It is noteworthy that Dileshwar Kamat has formally requested the Lok Sabha Speaker to disqualify Girdhari Yadav due to his alleged anti-party activities. JDU sources indicate that Yadav has been involved in actions contrary to the party’s official stance, including issues related to the SIR. This development has heated up the political climate in Bihar.
