Controversy Erupts Over Karnataka Inspectors Remarks on Ganesh Chaturthi

Mysuru, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister Prahlad Joshi has reacted strongly to comments made by Inspector Dhananjay in T. Narasipura, Mysuru, regarding the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Joshi is calling for the immediate suspension of the inspector, citing his alleged threatening remarks.

In a post on social media platform X, Joshi expressed concern, stating, “If Hindus have to shout and make noise to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi grandly in their own country, there is no greater misfortune!” He questioned who gave the inspector the authority to intimidate the youth of the Ganesh committee publicly.

Joshi further criticized the Karnataka government, asking whether the home minister sanctioned the inspector’s actions or if it was a directive stemming from the appeasement politics of D.K. Shivakumar’s Congress government. He described the behavior of the officer, who is supposed to maintain law and order, as unacceptable, accusing him of acting as an agent for a particular community.

The minister emphasized that attempts to disrupt Hindu festivals under the guise of law and order reflect the government’s anti-Hindu policies. “We will not tolerate any attempts to undermine our Sanatan culture, traditions, and devotional sentiments,” he asserted.

The controversy arose after Inspector Dhananjay issued guidelines aimed at maintaining law and order and public peace during the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities. However, a video showing his tone and choice of words while addressing the youth has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage.

Tensions are rising as the festival approaches, with many calling for accountability from local authorities.
