Controversy Erupts Over Fish Feast in Ayodhya During Sacred Month

Ayodhya, August 24: A significant uproar has emerged among saints in Ayodhya regarding a fish feast organized during a welcome event for Congress state president Ajay Rai. This event coincided with the sacred month of Sawan and the auspicious day of Ekadashi, leading to accusations of disrespect towards Sanatan Dharma.

Sant Deveshacharya Maharaj, the priest of Hanuman Garhi, expressed strong disapproval of the event. He stated, “It is unfortunate that the Congress state president chose to organize a fish feast after visiting the deity during the holy month of Sawan and on such a sacred date. This act mocks Sanatan and disrespects its followers. Such behavior is utterly unacceptable.”

He called for punitive measures against those responsible, urging all Sanatanis to unite and ensure that such disrespect does not occur again in the future.

Sant Sitaram Das also voiced his concerns, asserting that those who engage in such despicable acts will undoubtedly face consequences. He emphasized that these individuals cannot be true friends of Sanatanis, accusing them of wearing caps and catering to those who wear them.

He alleged that there are conspiracies aimed at dividing Sanatanis, asserting that these grave sinners must be punished. He warned that they would face repercussions that would be remembered for generations.

Kalki Ram, president of the Ramdal Trust, remarked that even ordinary devotees purify themselves days in advance before visiting Ayodhya. He criticized the Congress members for visiting Lord Ram and then consuming meat. “They should understand that their downfall is inevitable,” he added.

Iqbal Ansari, a former party in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case, also advised the community. He highlighted that the month of Sawan is meant for worship and urged people to refrain from consuming meat, fish, and alcohol during this sacred time. He deemed it inappropriate to hold such events in a religious city like Ayodhya.

Ansari appealed to everyone, stating, “Sawan is a month for devotion, and people should avoid meat and fish. It is essential to focus on worship during this holy month, which symbolizes greenery and devotion.”
