Srinagar, July 11: The film ‘Satluj,’ featuring actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh, is currently embroiled in controversy. Following its removal from OTT platforms, the District Gurdwara Management Committee (DGPC) Treasurer, Sardar Jagpal Singh, announced that the film will be screened in four Gurudwaras.
In the first phase, the film will be shown at four locations. On Friday, it will be screened at the Gurdwara in Guru Nanak Nagar, followed by the Akhnoor Gurdwara Sahib on Saturday, Khore Brais Pura on Sunday, and Talab Tillo on June 14. Sardar Jagpal Singh stated that these four Gurudwaras will host the film initially. As support from the committee grows, screenings may expand to additional Gurudwaras.
He expressed concern over the film’s removal from OTT platforms within just 48 hours, calling it a stain on democracy. He emphasized that the film portrays reality and criticized those responsible for its removal.
“Our country, India, is a bouquet of diversity. It is shameful for the system, politics, or anyone involved to remove the movie from OTT,” he remarked. He questioned why the CBI did not investigate the film’s ban if it lacked authenticity, and why there were no consequences when the matter went to court.
Sardar Jagpal Singh lamented that preventing the truth from reaching the public is a sin. The film ‘Satluj’ was released on the OTT platform ZEE5 without any promotion but was banned and removed just 48 hours after its debut.
