Patna, February 13: CPI (ML) MP Rajaram Singh has alleged a conspiracy to terminate the Lok Sabha membership of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the public will strongly oppose such actions. He emphasized that Rahul Gandhi has consistently raised his voice for democracy with unwavering truth.
In an interview in Patna, Singh responded to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s demand to revoke Rahul Gandhi‘s membership, stating that Gandhi delivered an outstanding speech in the house. He noted that the facts presented by Gandhi have cornered the central government, which is struggling to accept the truth and aims to undermine democracy. Singh asserted that there is a plot to end Rahul Gandhi’s membership, and the nation will resist this move.
He reflected on the struggle for independence from British rule, highlighting the establishment of democracy in India and the implementation of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s constitution. Singh warned that any conspiracy to alter this framework would provoke a nationwide response.
Addressing the criticism from Muslim organizations regarding the imposition of ‘Vande Mataram,’ Singh clarified that the objection is not to the song itself, but to the targeting of the Muslim community with certain lines added to it. He recalled that ‘Vande Mataram’ was sung by millions marching through the streets of Calcutta during the partition of Bengal based on religion, and those familiar with its history do not object to it.
On the issue of law and order in Bihar, Singh responded to Rabri Devi’s call for the resignations of Nitish Kumar and Samrat Chaudhary, stating that the safety of women in Bihar is at risk. He criticized the state for following the same path as BJP-ruled states, where women are not accorded respect or security. In such circumstances, he argued, the ruling party has completely lost its moral standing to remain in power.
