Congress MP Manish Tewari Flags Off Animal Ambulance Initiative

Chandigarh, April 19: Congress MP Manish Tewari has officially launched an animal ambulance funded by his parliamentary allocation. This initiative is a project of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

In a conversation, Tewari stated, “We have provided an animal ambulance to the SPCA. Its primary aim is to offer first aid and transportation for animals. This is a small step to assist voiceless beings.”

He added, “Managing the growing population in any city or municipality and providing adequate facilities is a significant challenge. However, the Chandigarh administration and the municipal corporation are making every effort to support the SPCA, considering its financial constraints.”

Tewari also responded to Prime Minister Modi’s comments regarding the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill, stating, “I believe that when addressing the nation, it should not be turned into a political battleground. We still support the Women’s Reservation Bill, but we oppose using it to implement delimitation. The truth is that the Women’s Reservation Bill was unanimously passed in both Houses in September 2023, yet the government has not notified it until April 16, 2026. If they were genuinely sensitive about women’s reservation, why did it take them nearly 30 months to officially notify this law?”

It is noteworthy that the SPCA works on animal rescue, medical treatment, shelter, and adoption. The organization is actively involved in several cities, including Delhi and Chandigarh, and runs public awareness campaigns about animal welfare and rights.
