Bhopal, April 21: The police in Bhopal have reportedly detained three members of the Congress IT Cell in Madhya Pradesh. Senior Congress leader and lawyer Vivek Tankha has condemned this action as illegal, threatening to approach the High Court in Jabalpur if the workers are not released.
Recently, a letter from a BJP leader went viral on social media, shared by Congress IT Cell workers. This letter has been labeled as fake. While reports indicate the detention of three workers, the police have not officially confirmed this.
Tankha stated that the cyber police in Bhopal have held the three workers without any valid reason for the past 27 hours. He expressed surprise and disappointment over the situation. He further mentioned that the alleged tweet from Vasundhara Raje, which had been widely circulated since April 15-16, was deemed fake only after it was posted on April 18. He argued that this detention is unjustified. If the workers are not released, Congress lawyers will challenge this unlawful arrest before the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur. He criticized the detention of Congress workers under the name of Rajasthan police as inappropriate.
On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Ajay Singh Yadav condemned Congress for sharing the letter on social media. He claimed that the Congress social media handle has become a hub for fake news. Posting a completely false and misleading letter on an official platform is a clear indication of their declining political integrity.
Yadav further stated that Congress has become the main face of an anti-women alliance, spreading confusion about the Nari Shakti Vandan Act. He accused Congress of fabricating letters in the names of BJP leaders to promote lies. This is not just a political conspiracy but a culmination of their malicious mindset against women’s rights. He demanded that Congress immediately remove the fake post, issue an unconditional apology, and provide a public clarification on the matter.
