Lucknow, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : The Congress Party has appointed Aradhana Mishra, known as ‘Mona’, as the new president of its Uttar Pradesh unit, replacing Ajay Rai. This decision comes as the party gears up for the upcoming state assembly elections. Supporters welcomed Mishra with posters outside the party office, congratulating her on her new role.
Ajay Rai, the former president, expressed his acceptance of the party’s decision. He stated that the Congress would contest the elections vigorously and aims to form a government in Uttar Pradesh, with plans to elevate Rahul Gandhi to the position of Prime Minister by 2029.
Speaking to the media in Varanasi after the leadership change, Rai emphasized that positions within the party are transient. He acknowledged the support he received from party workers during his tenure and affirmed his alignment with the national leadership’s decision.
