Bhopal, February 22: Jeetu Patwari, the President of the Congress party‘s Madhya Pradesh unit, has expressed serious concerns regarding the state’s law and order situation in a letter addressed to Chief Secretary Anurag Jain. The letter references a recent clash between Congress and BJP workers that occurred on Saturday, highlighting the police’s response during the incident.

Patwari’s letter emphasizes that the law and order situation has deteriorated significantly under the current ruling government. He noted that the events of Saturday have added a troubling chapter to the state’s democratic history.

Citing media reports, Patwari stated that organized attacks were carried out by BJP-affiliated officials and workers on Congress offices in various locations, including Bhopal and Indore. These attacks involved stone-pelting, vandalism, and the use of offensive slogans, alongside attempts to harm Congress leaders and workers.

The Congress leader accused the police administration of failing to demonstrate the necessary promptness and impartiality during these incidents. It appears that immediate action against the rioters was not taken due to pressure from those in power.

He further asserted that such circumstances are incompatible with any democratic and constitutional governance. Therefore, he urged for a fair, transparent, and timely investigation into these events, ensuring that strict legal action is taken against those responsible, regardless of their political affiliations or positions.

Patwari also called for an independent investigation into any potential political protection or complicity in these incidents, aiming to restore public trust in law and order and administrative impartiality in the state.
