May 22, 2025 | Tech Update: Nothing has expanded its CMF audio lineup with three new true wireless earbuds, and we now have the Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus in-house for review. Positioned at the entry and premium ends of the new range, these earbuds aim to offer impressive audio performance, active noise cancellation (ANC), and modern design flair, all under a budget-friendly umbrella.

CMF Buds 2: Entry-Level, But Feature-Rich
The CMF Buds 2 may be the cheapest of the trio, but they’re no slouch when it comes to specs. They feature:
11mm PMI drivers, delivering sound tuned by Swedish audio specialists Dirac
Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with up to 48dB noise reduction
6 microphones (3 per bud) for clear calls and ANC performance
Design: Available in Light Green, Orange, and Dark Grey, the earbuds come with a rotary dial caseāvisually inspired by the CMF Buds Pro 2, though non-functional in this version
CMF Buds 2 Plus: Premium Audio with Hi-Res Certification
The Buds 2 Plus is the flagship of the new lineup, featuring a larger and more advanced 12mm LCP driver and support for:
LDAC codec and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification
Enhanced 50dB ANC, offering even greater noise suppression than the Buds 2
A familiar rotary dial case design, but again, only for aesthetics
Available in Blue and Light Grey
Common Features Across Both Models
Despite their price differences, the CMF Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus share several key features:
Bluetooth 5.4 with dual device connectivity
Low-latency mode for gaming and video streaming
IP55 rating for earbuds (splash/dust resistant) and IPX2 for the case
Up to 14 hours of continuous playback (likely with ANC off)
What’s Missing?
While the middle-tier CMF Buds 2a is still out of reach for testing, it promises to balance features and price between the two. Hopefully, a review unit arrives soon to complete the picture.
Review Coming Soon
We are currently testing both the CMF Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus for audio quality, noise cancellation, fit, battery life, and overall performance. Our full reviews will be published shortly, so stay tuned to find out if these stylish new earbuds live up to the hype.
