Patna, June 17: A special cleanliness campaign was launched in Patna to mark the completion of 12 years of the central government. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, participated in the event held at the historic Golghar Park. He urged citizens to promote cleanliness as a people’s movement.
Chouhan shared details of the event on the social media platform ‘X’, highlighting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s successful leadership, the country has established new dimensions of development and public welfare. He noted that Bihar’s Agriculture Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, and other officials also participated in the cleanliness campaign organized to commemorate the government’s 12-year milestone.
The Union Minister emphasized that Prime Minister Modi has transformed cleanliness from a mere government initiative into a national campaign involving public participation. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated under his leadership, has fostered a new sense of awareness and responsibility towards cleanliness across the nation.
In a conversation with reporters in Patna, Chouhan remarked that prior to 2014, there was not much seriousness regarding cleanliness among the public. However, when Prime Minister Modi himself took up a broom to convey the message of cleanliness, the campaign reached every citizen. He stated that positive changes regarding cleanliness are now visible in every part of the country.
He said, “Where there is cleanliness, there is health. Where there is cleanliness, there is beauty, and where there is cleanliness, there is the presence of God.” He urged citizens to actively participate in keeping their homes, surroundings, workplaces, and public spaces clean.
Chouhan also asserted that cleanliness is not solely the responsibility of municipal corporations or sanitation workers; it is a duty of every citizen. To create a healthy, beautiful, and developed nation, each individual must take responsibility for cleanliness.
Bihar’s Agriculture Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, who was also present at the event, stated that a large number of people participated in this campaign under Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat’ mission. He emphasized that the goal of the cleanliness campaign is not just to clean but also to raise awareness about a clean lifestyle within society.
Sinha expressed confidence that all citizens should work together to make Bihar and the nation clean. He believes that through public participation, the resolve for a clean India will become even stronger, leading to positive outcomes in the future.
