Claims of ISI Ties at London Protests Spark Controversy Among BJP UK Leaders

BJP UK leader claims ISI-linked individuals were present at recent protests in London, raising concerns about foreign influence.

London, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Leaders from the Overseas Friends of BJP UK have raised alarming allegations regarding recent anti-India protests in London. Vikram Banerjee, the coordinator of BJP UK, asserted that individuals linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan were present at the demonstrations led by activist Dhruv Rathi. He claims to have evidence supporting these assertions.

Banerjee observed the protests that took place on a Friday and Saturday, noting a significant turnout from the expatriate community. He described the scene as troubling but expressed relief at exposing what he termed the “ecosystem” of the Congress Party and leftist groups.

The presence of Pakistani individuals, funded Khalistani activists, and Pakistani media personnel was particularly highlighted by Banerjee. He stated that they have identified disturbing incidents involving individuals connected to India and are sharing these details with authorities for further investigation into their ISI affiliations.

He emphasized the right to protest in a democracy, acknowledging that India is a democratic nation. However, he expressed concern over foreign elements and anti-India forces participating in these demonstrations. He referenced comments made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting that attempts to destabilize India would fail due to its strong democratic foundations.

Banerjee also pointed out historical attempts to undermine democracy in India, recalling the challenges faced during Indira Gandhi’s tenure. He asserted that the current government and institutions are transparent, boasting one of the world’s best democratic processes, which can always improve, especially with advancements in technology.

He further criticized the inclusion of illegal immigrants, particularly Bangladeshi Muslims, in voter lists as a tactic used by political rivals. Banerjee noted that even in West Bengal, there have been attempts to disrupt the electoral process.

Regarding the protests, he remarked on the absence of the youth, stating that only a few Congress members and leftist students were involved. He lamented the cancellation of a planned event for 600-700 students at the Indian High Commission due to security concerns, highlighting a worrying shift in the Congress Party’s alignment with anti-national elements.

Banerjee’s comments have sparked a heated debate about the influence of foreign entities in domestic affairs and the implications for India’s democratic integrity.
