
Beijing, March 17: Chinese Premier Li Qiang presided over the 11th State Council meeting, focusing on the study and implementation of key speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) sessions. The meeting also outlined the major tasks for the State Council in 2026.
Li emphasized that Xi Jinping’s significant speeches during the NPC and CPPCC provided in-depth discussions on several critical issues related to China’s development. These discussions are highly strategic, guiding, and targeted.
He noted that this year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan. In light of a complex and challenging external environment, as well as the difficult tasks of reform, development, and stability, the State Council and its departments must maintain a strategic perspective and adopt more proactive measures.
Additionally, Li stressed the importance of establishing and practicing a correct understanding of governance achievements in accordance with the unified arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, highlighting the need for serious study and education on this matter.
