Beijing, April 18: Wang Changlin, Vice Chairman of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, addressed a press conference on April 17, discussing the quality development of economic and social growth during the 15th Five-Year Plan. He noted that despite complex circumstances, China’s economic growth had a strong start in the first quarter of this year. The next phase will focus on five key areas.
First, comprehensive economic policies will be introduced in a timely manner based on the prevailing situation. Second, there will be a strong emphasis on expanding domestic effective demand. A strategy for expanding domestic demand from 2026 to 2030 will be developed, and significant projects that meet the conditions will begin construction soon. Third, the promotion of scientific and technological innovation will accelerate the growth of emerging businesses. Fourth, there will be a focus on increasing employment and income. Lastly, the foundation for safe development will be strengthened.
Discussing the impact of international circumstances on China’s oil and gas imports, he stated that China has taken several measures to ensure a sufficient supply of domestic oil products, maintaining stable market operations. China will also increase the supply of non-chemical energy. It is estimated that by 2035, the scale of non-chemical energy supply will be more than ten times larger than in 2025.
