Beijing, March 30: Recently, over 560 advanced technological achievements were showcased at the Chongqing Forum held in China’s capital, Beijing. This event highlighted areas such as AR glasses and humanoid robots, reflecting China’s robust innovative capabilities. Foreign guests attending the forum gained insights into new development opportunities arising from these advancements.
Shya Zehan, Director of UNESCO’s East Asia Multisectoral Regional Office, remarked that the 15th Five-Year Plan is a remarkable initiative. This plan emphasizes technological development, promising significant productivity improvements in sectors like artificial intelligence and industrial robotics. It also aims to foster innovation in electric vehicles and telecommunications.
Hans Dovill, Chairman of the Advisory Committee for UNESCO’s International Creativity and Sustainable Development Center, noted that China is committed to becoming a leading power in artificial intelligence. The country’s current advantage lies in its highly mature AI tools, enabling it to produce high-quality products and launch them in the global market.
Denis Simon, President of the International Talent Organization Federation, stated, “I believe that as an innovation-driven country, China can offer valuable experiences to many countries in the Global South. Observing China’s and DeepSeek’s experiences, these nations realize they do not need to rely on extremely expensive chips or invest billions of dollars. This opens up opportunities for them to enter the field of artificial intelligence.”
Foreign companies are consistently increasing their investments in the Chinese market. Anders Karlsson, Vice President of Global Academic Relations at Elsevier, mentioned that the company has been deeply engaged in China for many years and remains committed to long-term development. They maintain close collaborations with various institutions. Currently, their offices are located in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, covering the entire country. One of their key tasks is to launch safe and reliable AI solutions for scientific research and observe their application, benefiting not only China but the world as well.
