Raipur, August 24: A speeding SUV collided with the convoy of Chhattisgarh’s Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap near the Junwani area on the Jagdalpur-Kondagaon border, injuring at least six people, including four police officers. Fortunately, Minister Kashyap was unharmed and did not sustain any serious injuries.
Among the injured was the minister’s female personal assistant. Four police officers, who were seriously injured, have been referred to Raipur for advanced medical treatment.
According to police officials, the minister’s convoy was traveling from Farsaguda to Kondagaon when a Scorpio vehicle suddenly struck their car from the opposite direction. The impact caused the Scorpio to lose control and collide with another vehicle trailing behind.
The collision was so severe that the following vehicle sustained significant damage, leading to chaos at the scene.
Minister Kashyap took to his Facebook account to share, “Today, our vehicle met with an accident near Bhanpuri on the Jagdalpur-Kondagaon route, injuring the personnel onboard. The injured were promptly taken to the hospital, where I inquired about their health and instructed doctors to ensure proper and better treatment.”
The four police officers in the trailing vehicle were injured in the crash. Police and administrative teams arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the news. The injured were quickly transported to the Kondagaon district hospital.
Initial reports indicate that all injured personnel are receiving treatment. Some reports suggest that the condition of four of the injured was serious, necessitating their referral to Raipur for further care.
Additionally, reports indicate that the minister’s personal assistant and driver were also injured. Thankfully, despite the severe collision, there were no fatalities. Both the minister’s vehicle and the one behind it were damaged in the accident.
