Mumbai, August 8: The Hindi film industry of the 1990s witnessed many stars who rose to fame overnight with their remarkable talent. One such name is Vivek Mushran. Born on August 9, 1969, in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, Vivek began his acting career at the young age of 21 with Subhash Ghai’s film “Saudagar.”
His debut film brought him instant success, leading to a flurry of offers from various filmmakers. In “Saudagar,” he had the opportunity to work alongside legendary actors like Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar. His on-screen pairing with actress Manisha Koirala was well-received, especially the popular song “Eelu Eelu.”
Following the success of his first film, Vivek received numerous offers for new projects. He appeared in films such as “Ram Jaane,” “First Love Letter,” “Prem Diwane,” “Insaniyat Ke Devta,” “Sanam,” “Manchala,” and “Bewafa Se Wafa.” However, none of these films matched the success of “Saudagar.” Gradually, his popularity waned, and he faced a period where lead roles became scarce.
Over time, weight gain contributed to a decline in his film opportunities. Subsequently, Vivek shifted his focus to television, portraying the character Rohit in the popular series “Sonpari.” He also appeared in other shows like “Bharati,” “Baat Hamari Pakki Hai,” and “Parvarrish.”
In addition to his television work, Vivek acted in films such as “Kisna,” “Tamasha,” and “Do Patti.” As he approaches his 57th birthday, Vivek remains unmarried.
