Hyderabad, February 20: Panic erupted at the CBI Court in Nampally, Hyderabad, on Friday after officials received another bomb threat via email. The message warned of an impending explosion that day. Following the alert, court officials promptly notified the police.
The premises were evacuated, and a thorough search operation was initiated. Bomb disposal squads and dog units conducted a detailed inspection of the area. The email claimed that “12 RDX bombs” had been planted, set to detonate at 12:05 PM.
After receiving the email, authorities evacuated judges, staff, lawyers, and litigants from the court building. Police officials reported that the search operation was conducted according to standard protocols. Fortunately, no suspicious materials were found. The police have registered a case and commenced further investigations.
This marks the second time in three days that the CBI Court has received a bomb threat email. A similar email was sent on Wednesday, which was later deemed a hoax following an extensive police search.
On the same day, several other courts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh also received bomb threats, causing widespread alarm. However, police, aided by bomb disposal teams and dog units, found no explosives after conducting thorough searches.
Threatening emails were also sent to district courts in Karimnagar, Telangana, and Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Police conducted search operations at both locations but found no suspicious items.
The bomb threats have severely impacted all courts involved. In response, police have increased security across all court complexes and registered separate cases regarding the threats.
Authorities are working to trace the source of these emails, which are suspected to originate from the same source.
