Brett Lee Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Asha Bhosle on Instagram

New Delhi, April 13: Renowned Indian singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday at the age of 92. Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has paid an emotional tribute to Bhosle, reminiscing about their unique musical collaboration.

In 2007, Bhosle and Lee teamed up to sing “Haan Main Tumhara Hoon,” a track featured in the album “Asha and Friends.” Their pairing was well-received by fans, making the song quite popular. Reflecting on that moment, Brett Lee shared a touching message on his Instagram account. “I had the opportunity to write and record ‘Haan Main Tumhara Hoon’ with Asha Bhosle in 2006. This is something I will always be grateful for. What struck me the most was not just her incredible talent but also how kind and humble she was. Despite achieving so much in her life, she presented herself with such love and generosity.”

Lee continued, “My thoughts are with her family and friends during this time. I feel very fortunate to have spent even a small moment with such a special person. There is no doubt her legacy will live on for future generations.” In his autobiography “My Life: Brett Lee,” he elaborated on this memorable musical collaboration, explaining that the music video for the song was shot during his visit to India for the 2006 Champions Trophy. The cricketer also lent his voice to Hindi lines in the track, including “Haan, main tumhara hoon, tumhara hi rahunga.”

In his book, Lee wrote, “I had a great time. I didn’t tell any of my teammates what I was going to do; when I went to shoot, I just told them I was going for a walk. Four months after that recording experience, I met Asha Bhosle when she came to perform at the Opera House in Sydney. She gave me her compilation album, which had a signed message. It will always remain one of my treasures.”
