Bollywood 2026: Salman, Shah Rukh and Akshay’s Big Releases Awaited

Mumbai, 2 January. The year 2026 promises to be exciting for Bollywood with a diverse range of films releasing across genres like action, thriller, comedy, horror, and mythology. Several highly anticipated films featuring stars such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Akshay Kumar are set to hit the theatres.

The craze for ‘Dhurandhar’ continues this year as well. Many trailers and teasers for upcoming films have already been released, building anticipation among audiences. The list of movies scheduled for release this year is quite extensive.

Border 2: A sequel to the 1997 blockbuster ‘Border’, this patriotic war film marks Sunny Deol’s return in a powerful role. Co-starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, the story is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Directed by Anurag Singh, the action-packed film will release on 23 January.

O Romeo: Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, this high-octane action thriller with a romantic touch stars Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri. Set in Mumbai’s underworld, the film also features Nana Patekar in an important role. Scheduled for 13 February release, the movie combines action, emotions, and romance, making it a Valentine’s week special.

Mardani 3: Rani Mukerji returns as the brave police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in the third installment of the popular franchise. This dark, brutal, and deadly thriller focuses on crimes against women. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the film will release on 27 February around Holi, symbolising the victory of good over evil.

Gabru: Sunny Deol stars in this film releasing on 13 March. Alongside Simran and Preet Kamani, the movie, directed and written by Shashank Udapurkar, explores personal struggles and human resilience.

Dhurandhar 2: Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is set to release on 19 March during Eid. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film’s shooting is complete.

Bhoot Bangla: Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan reunite after 14 years with this horror-comedy releasing on 2 April. Featuring actors Vamika Gabbi, Tabu, and Paresh Rawal, the film promises a mix of laughter and scares.

Battle of Galwan: Salman Khan’s much-awaited film will release on 17 April. Directed by Apoorv Lakhia and co-starring Chitrangda Singh, the movie is based on the real events of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, honouring the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers, focusing on Colonel B. Santosh Babu’s heroism.

Awarapan 2: The sequel to the 2007 film will release in April, with Emraan Hashmi reprising his role as Shivam. Alongside Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, the film directed by Nitin Kakkar offers a blend of action, romance, and deep emotions.

Alpha: Yash Raj Films’ spy universe’s first female-led film stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh as super agents, with Bobby Deol playing the villain. Directed by Shiv Rawal and featuring Anil Kapoor in an important role, this high-stakes action thriller has seen delays with no final release date announced yet.

Ramayan: Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, this film presents the first part of the epic Ramayana. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravan, it offers a modern and grand portrayal of the ancient saga.

Fauji: Prabhas stars in this period action drama set in 1940s British India. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film showcases Prabhas as a rebel soldier and is scheduled for release in August.

King: The year 2026 is special for Shah Rukh Khan’s fans as his film ‘King’ will release. Notably, Shah Rukh will appear alongside his daughter Suhana Khan in this movie.
