Dehradun, March 22: In a grand public gathering at MB Inter College in Haldwani, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh participated in Uttarakhand’s ‘Four Years of Excellence’ program. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the minister with a replica of the Nanda Devi temple and a locally crafted shawl.

During his address, the Defense Minister paid tribute to Uttarakhand’s martyrs, emphasizing that this land is rich in faith, spirituality, and the legacy of sages and ascetics. He praised the people of Uttarakhand for their gentle nature, hard work, and patriotism. Singh noted that under Dhami’s leadership, the state is on a continuous path of development, establishing a strong identity among the leading states of the country.

He commended the Dhami government’s approach, highlighting its ‘zero tolerance’ policy and swift actions. Singh remarked that Dhami has evolved from being a formidable leader to a ‘Dhuraandhar,’ consistently making impactful decisions for the state’s progress.

The Defense Minister pointed out that Uttarakhand has completed 25 years since its establishment, marking a journey filled with sacrifice, struggle, and development. He mentioned rapid advancements in road, rail, and air connectivity, as well as in electricity capacity, tourism, employment, and skill development.

Singh stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Uttarakhand is making significant contributions to national development. Despite being a small state, Uttarakhand has achieved remarkable milestones in various sectors. He noted a significant increase in the state’s GDP and per capita income, reflecting the pace of development.

He highlighted key decisions made by the Dhami government, such as the Uniform Civil Code, anti-cheating laws, eviction actions, and the development of border villages, calling them milestones. Singh noted that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement the UCC, taking a historic step towards social justice.

On the issues of illegal encroachment and infiltration, he stressed the importance of maintaining the sanctity and security of this sacred land. The state government has removed thousands of encroachments and is taking strict action against illegal activities. He mentioned that both the central and state governments are making concerted efforts for the development of border areas, the Vibrant Villages scheme, and preventing migration.

Singh emphasized that the resources of ‘mountain youth and water’ should be utilized for local development, creating job opportunities for the youth and strengthening the local economy.

During his address, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami detailed the achievements of both the central and state governments. He stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the nation is advancing with the mantra of reform, perform, and transform, playing a powerful role on the global stage.

Dhami highlighted the remarkable progress in investment, tourism, infrastructure, industry, and employment over the past four years. Major investment agreements have been made through the Global Investment Summit, and there has been a rapid increase in startups and industries. He noted positive changes in the state due to initiatives for women’s empowerment, youth employment, a transparent recruitment system, and strict actions against corruption.

He mentioned that the implementation of anti-cheating laws has secured the future of the youth, resulting in thousands obtaining government jobs. Additionally, the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code marks a significant step towards social harmony.

To promote tourism, special attention is being given to the development of homestays, hotels, and religious sites. Furthermore, development activities in border areas have encouraged reverse migration.

During the event, the Defense Minister also reviewed exhibitions set up by various departments, showcasing information on the Jamrani Dam project, national highways, rural development, and wildlife conservation initiatives.

The event was attended by Cabinet Ministers Rekha Arya, Ramsingh Keda, Pradeep Batra, Madan Kaushik, Ganesh Joshi, Khajan Das, Union Minister Ajay Tamta, MP Ajay Bhatt, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat, Diwan Singh Bisht, Sarita Arya, Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht, Shiv Arora, Suresh Gadiya, along with numerous local representatives, officials, and citizens.
