BJP Protests Against Water and Electricity Crisis in Ranchi

Ranchi, May 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, on Tuesday against the worsening water crisis and unannounced power cuts.

BJP leaders accused the state government of being directly responsible for the crisis. Protesters marched from Shaheed Chowk to the Collectorate, chanting slogans against the government.

They warned that if the situation does not improve soon, they would escalate their movement. The protest saw the participation of several prominent leaders, including BJP state president Aditya Sahu, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, and Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth.

Aditya Sahu expressed concern over the critical state of electricity and water supply as the summer begins. He criticized the government, stating that prolonged power cuts have severely disrupted daily life, forcing residents to struggle for water.

He emphasized that a government that cannot provide basic amenities like electricity and water has no moral right to remain in power. Sanjay Seth, the MP from Ranchi, highlighted the severity of the crisis in the capital, questioning the conditions faced by people in remote areas of the state.

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda remarked that the administration has become a mere spectator while the public suffers. He accused the state government of being insensitive to the people’s issues.

Ranchi MLA CP Singh also raised serious questions about the functioning of the electricity and water supply departments. He stated that every BJP worker would continue to fight for the resolution of these fundamental issues, making it clear that this protest was not merely symbolic but a fight for the rights of the people that would continue.
