BJP Leaders Accuse Opposition of Undermining Womens Rights

New Delhi, April 19: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and party spokesperson Pratul Shahdev have accused opposition parties, including Congress, TMC, SP, and DMK, of harming women’s rights and opposing key legislation. They labeled these actions as detrimental to women’s empowerment and pledged to hold the opposition politically accountable.

Chugh referenced Prime Minister Modi’s address to the nation regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill, stating, “The parties that celebrated the stripping of women’s rights will face a strong response from the public. The people are aware of who stands with them and who does not.”

He added, “Congress, DMK, TMC, and SP have not just defeated a bill in Parliament; they have attacked the dreams and rights of women in this country. Prime Minister Modi is tirelessly working to fulfill women’s aspirations, while the Congress party is crushing those dreams. Now, Nari Shakti will respond with political consequences.”

Chugh emphasized that the dreams and rights of 700 million mothers, sisters, and daughters have been ruthlessly trampled, which is unacceptable. He echoed Modi’s sentiment, calling this an act of ‘feticide’ against women’s rights.

Spokesperson Pratul Shahdev remarked, “Prime Minister Modi rightly pointed out that when the pride of Rani Lakshmibai was challenged, she jumped into battle with her child strapped to her back. Our 700 million Rani Lakshmibais are ready. When the members of the India Alliance, including Congress, TMC, SP, and RJD, come, they will not be welcomed with flowers but with slippers. This is an attack on the rights of our Rani Lakshmibais.”

Shahdev also commented on the recent ED raid at the residence of Kolkata’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, asserting, “Central agencies are completely independent now. This is not the Congress era. When the Supreme Court described the CBI as being caged, the agency acts based on the inputs it receives. The actions taken are transparent, and the ED must be awaited for an official statement. However, the campaign against corruption has gained significant strength during Prime Minister Modi’s tenure.”
