Gandhinagar, April 6: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated its 47th Foundation Day in Gujarat on Monday. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state president Jagdish Vishwakarma hoisted the party flag in Gandhinagar and addressed party workers.
During the event at the BJP’s state headquarters, leaders paid tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. They also criticized Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s statements made during a rally in Kerala.
Jagdish Vishwakarma remarked that such statements reflect an anti-Gujarat mindset. He emphasized that the 6.5 crore people of Gujarat have responded and will continue to do so. Gujarat will not tolerate any disrespect towards the land that has produced leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Narendra Modi, and Amit Shah.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that the BJP is not merely a political party but a means to serve the people with the spirit of “Nation First.” Reflecting on the party’s early years, he recalled that even when they held only two seats, their determination and vision remained steadfast.
The Chief Minister noted that the party has continued its “politics of development” despite opposition pressure. He highlighted that a BJP worker does not only work for elections but operates with the ethos of putting the nation first. Discussing national development, he mentioned that the abrogation of Article 370 and the hoisting of the national flag in Kashmir are results of the hard work and sacrifices of many party workers.
Patel asserted that the development model initiated in Gujarat under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership is now recognized across the country and the world. He emphasized the importance of matching words with actions, which has strengthened public trust.
He concluded by stating that the BJP is a party that shares in the joys and sorrows of the people. It is not a dynastic party; rather, it is one where an ordinary worker can rise to the position of Prime Minister.
